Founded in 1988, in one of the last vestiges of wilderness skiing in the United States, North Cascade Heli-Skiing offers the best attributes of helicopter skiing – small, personable groups, challenging yet varied terrain, complete luxury packages, dramatic scenery, easy access and, of course, powder! Consistently dry powder that can be found long after the last storm. The North Cascades lie at the northern-most edge of Washington and comprise the most glaciated mountains in the lower 48 states. An ideal location near the Canadian border and at the eastern edge of the range’s 100-mile breadth provides for a near-perfect balance between flying weather and snowfall. And, when it is storming, there’s always the snowcat, meaning more time skiing and riding and less time waiting for weather!

Packages include first-class lodging and gourmet meals at the Freestone Inn, North Cascade Heli-Skiing’s base of operations. The Freestone offers a variety of guest rooms and private lodges, all within easy walking distance of the on-site heliport. Additional amenities include two outdoor hot tubs and an activities center offering Nordic skiing and snowshoeing. Full conference facilities accommodate large groups wishing to combine business with heli-skiing, and flexible scheduling allows customization of packages for special requests.

“After 35 years of heli-skiing, I find my fondest memories
are from the North Cascades. East slope snow, very consistent weather, and terrain
with a wonderful intimacy. Couple this with small groups, and the skiing experience
becomes the best there is.” - John Rabel, Seattle
